Our travel planning spreadsheet (Google Sheets format) was created specifically for landscape and travel photographers. Scout locations, plan your trip, and keep everything in one handy document for use on a desktop computer or mobile device.

Organize your research, scouting, and travel planning with our Photo Trip Planner spreadsheet template

There are a lot of travel planners you can buy, but we’ve never found one created specifically for photographers and planning photo trips. We’ve changed that by creating this Google Sheets template to conveniently plan and track all your trip details in one place!

Location research and scouting are essential for capturing the best travel and landscape photos, but most photographers lack an organized way to keep track of important notes or scouting details.

This planner will be your best friend for planning and organization. You can enter all the relevant details about specific locations, vantage points, or important shots you want to capture on your trip. Keep track of sunrise and sunset times, take notes on hiking trails, prioritize different spots, and more. Plan each day of your trip and make the most of your time.

Best of all, Google Sheets can be used offline. Thanks to the free Sheets mobile app, you can access your planner from your phone even if you’re in a remote location with no internet access.

The planner spreadsheet includes several tabs or sheets for:

  • Location research and scouting
  • Creating a packing checklist
  • Keeping tabs on your travel reservations (flight, car rental, hotel, etc.)
  • Tracking the weather forecast
  • Tracking expenses from your trip
  • Managing your schedule or itinerary

Everything is fully customizable so you can add or remove items based on your needs or preferences. For example, you can easily add or remove items from the packing checklist, change headings, add or remove columns, etc.

Pay once and use it over and over again. Just make a copy of the spreadsheet for each trip you want to plan.
